Club InfoThe University of North Florida Ice Hockey Team is a club sport at U.N.F. Currently we are playing in an Adult League at the Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex. The team is made up of UNF students and non-UNF students. For the 2009 Fall season we intend to continue to open the roster to any College student in the Jacksonville area. Our goal is to bring the students of U.N.F. and the fans of Jacksonville a competitive, winning hockey team. Our current home is the Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex located at 3605 Philips Highway, Jacksonville, Fl, 32207 off I-95 and Emerson. Tryouts for the 2009 fall season will be held at the beginning of the fall academic semester and are open to any current student at any Jacksonville area university or college who would like to try out. All participants are required to provide their own protective gear and wear it at all times during the try out session. It is anticipated that there will be a fee per player to help cover the cost of the season, which will be set at a later time and is subject to change per season. Currently the Club receives $300 from the University of North Florida to help cover some of the costs associated with the season which could exceed $8,000.00 for practice ice time, games, equipment and travel expenses. |
